After dabbling with several software solutions worth millions as an employee, he started his own infotech solutions company and kept at it for over 7 years. Websites.co.in – How was it started?

“I had been on the lookout for an idea that has a large target addressable market and is in the unorganized sector that had a potential technology disruption play. Technology has been a challenge for me personally in my previous startup.” Kartik on the idea that built this venture.

    Kartik Raichura- Websites.co.in- CEO
    Kartik Raichura- Websites.co.in CEO

Kartik came across several business owners, who would inquisitively always ask him, how they can take their business online, and always be fascinated by the opportunity.

“Ideally, getting their business online has been a Pandora’s box for a large business population in India and he wanted to solve this challenge with simplicity. That’s how the idea of assisted instant websites built-in front of the client was born” quotes Kartik, Founder & CEO, Websites.co.in

Important Checklist for Before and After Launching a New Website
Launching a website can be quite a tedious task but here’s a checklist that will help you launch your website perfectly.

    Websites.co.in – Startup Launch

To start with, the team only build an MVP and took it to the market to achieve a product-market fit. Kartik would himself do telephone calls to random business owners from online business directories, introduce himself as a consultant and set up a physical meeting with them. The services and product offerings developed and evolved from consultative conversations the team had with their clients. The prime focus in the first six months was to deliver on the promise of instant websites that get SMB’s online, get them more visibility, more customers and more profit.

As seen for most startups, the first 100 users were founder-driven.

“As the founder, I diligently and shamelessly demonstrated the product to just about everyone I could. It isn’t uncommon to say that I used to take up OLA and Uber Pool cabs to and fro from office just so that I could demonstrate the product to my co-passengers.” Says the founder fondly.

    Websites.co.in – USP and Innovation

The whole idea behind Websites.co.in is based on the fact that the internet is an empowering tool for the world’s business owners and this venture is going to pass the toothbrush test for this audience.

“Our startup will be used at least 2 times a day by these business owners as an enabler.” Says the founder

Websites.co.in’s USP is that unlike other website builders, who charge before you can take the website online, Websites.co.in puts the website on the internet immediately as soon as the users fill up a few basic details about their business. They also get a 30-day risk free trial and can try out all the features of the platform. If the user is convinced and wants to upgrade to one of the premium plans, they can go ahead and purchase an affordable subscription plan of their choice.

This platform is available in 98 world languages and can collect payments from 190+ countries. The team is striving hard to create a world-class “Made in India” SaaS platform with a vision to empower micro-businesses and business owners globally.

Websites.co.in – Business Model and Revenue Model

Websites.co.in is a Freemium model. It gives the users a 30-day free trial of the platform. Post which if the customers choose to continue, they have to upgrade to a paid premium plan. The pricing bit is a little trickier as a user from a third world nation will not be able to pay the same price as a business owner from a developed country.

For this reason, this platform maps the purchasing power parity according to geographies and dynamically come up with a pricing that is best for that particular location.

    Websites.co.in – Funding and Investors

Websites.co.in got pre-seed funding at the ideation stage itself. Before Kartik had an MVP or even a corporate bank account, he had commitments from a few angels. This confidence shown by his early investors was a real boost.

“I did knock many unknown doors too but the conversions from known friends and their network came in pretty quickly.” Kartik, Founder & CEO, Websites.co.in

After talking to more than 500 such businesses they realized that they were not happy with the value of existing products and then at Froogal, they set upon this journey to provide the best value to businesses of various sizes, while working hand in hand with them at every point.

“From ideation to prototyping to customer endpoints we brainstormed solutions with our customers to enhance the value proposition, dig into real problems and develop a product which solved the real day to day problems they face with a minimal cost, along with which the rejection of dejection, and with perseverance, we showed in making it perfect and frugal for the business owners.” said Jeevan on the ideating stage of the venture.

Once the team had the first Pilot deployment, they worked closely with them, wearing all hats to iron out all issues and proactively providing solutions to streamline the process. They realize that the product and the experience they provide speaks for itself and are happy to rely just on word of mouth for their promotions.

What intrigued this duo was that every business owner wants to excel in their own business at the low-cost model and they took that as a challenge and explored how technology can help drive revenues by simplifying and automating most of their needs at an affordable cost.

    75F – Founders and Team

Deepinder Singh is the Founder and CEO of 75F.

    75F Team
    75F Team

75F founder and CEO, Deepinder Singh has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology. Prior to starting his own venture, Deepinder held various technical positions at companies like Apex Electronics, Hughes Network Systems, Eftia OSS Solutions, Soma Networks, Suntulit and Unreasonable.

Regarding team size, 75F currently has over 70 employees in the APAC region, with offices in Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, and Singapore. In the U.S, the company employs over 40 people. 75F is expecting to add about 40 headcounts in both these geographies in the coming year.

    How was 75F started?

75F was created to find a solution to an age-old problem. When 75F’s CEO & Co-Founder, Deepinder Singh’s one-year-old daughter moved to a separate room in their house in the US, she would often wake up crying in the middle of the night. He soon discovered this was because her room temperature was more than 8-10 degrees cooler than the other rooms – a significant difference in Minnesota, where the outside temperature could fall to -30 degrees Celsius. This was because the thermostat in the master bedroom did not take temperature variances into account. To fix this problem, Deepinder developed algorithms that incorporated temperature variances and thermal loads in different parts of buildings, and this was the beginning of 75F.

75F stands for 75 degrees Fahrenheit, which was set by the United Nations in 2008 as the optimum temperature in all its offices worldwide. Inspired by this, 75F seeks to deliver optimal comfort while saving maximum energy.

75F – Business Model and Revenue Model

Initially, 75F’s go-to-market was direct to the customer, i.e. Facility Managers and Facility Heads of commercial buildings. Over time, it redefined its go-to-market strategy to approach the customers through their ESCo (Energy Service Companies) Partners or other channel partners such as FM Companies, Property developers, Building Automation SI’s, etc.

75F’s customers can opt for one of the two business models: CAPEX ( Captital expenditure) and OPEX ( Operational expenditure). In CAPEX, the customer makes an upfront payment, and there will be a small AMC fee for maintenance, but in the OPEX model, the customer will make regular payouts from the energy savings it enjoys for a predetermined period.

    75F – Startup Challenges

Energy Efficiency, employee health and productivity, optimization and protection of assets or goods in a building, etc. all form an integral part of today’s business. While technologies such as IoT enable all of these at a much lower cost & in a more user-friendly way than before, there is inertia in changing to newer technologies and newer standards in comfort & sustainability.

That said, 75F is optimistic that the growth potential in the Indian subcontinent is huge where buildings are becoming people-centric with occupant’s comfort and preferences being given utmost priority. How was TNQ Ingage Started?

It all started much before the company was founded. Vijay’s journey with this technology began in the year 2002 while at Intel, building the first generation bulky VR systems for healthcare industries. As a Director at Intel, he was part of the team that drove the 1st two waves of computing – desktop & mobile. He was fully aware that a third wave of “immersive computing” is around the corner where technology can sense, predict with the possibility of virtual presence anytime, anywhere using virtual and augmented reality.

And so he launched InGage Technologies in the year 2012, sensing the next wave of immersive computing that would make people change the way they create and consume content from observation to immersion.

Vijay has been in this industry for around 15 years and witnessed closely the seeds of transformation that we are experiencing now. His first-hand experience in this sphere and the knowledge of potential implications made him believe in immersive computing, which comes with a lot of scopes, thanks to its brilliance and transformative capabilities.

“We began our endeavors by coming up with India’s first-ever 4D Augmented Reality application in 2013 for Rajinikanth starrer Kochadaiiyaan Film. We had tied up with Karbonn smartphones & Kochadaiiyaan for the project.” Says Vijay.

The application, which allows Rajinikanth fans to see him perform stunts and actions right at their home, was then shown to the Superstar, who was quite delighted with the experience and approved the project immediately. The AR application received very positive feedback and won accolades across the world for its quality.

    TNQ Ingage – Startup Launch

The belief in immersive computing, 18 years of international experience and the financial stability that Vijay achieved by then helped in launching the company with no user. Digital marketing, attending events, references through our good work and age-old networking helped in the acquisition of initial customers.

TNQ Ingage – Business Model and Revenue Model

The current focus is service business through customized AR VR short-term and long-term projects across the manufacturing, construction and healthcare industries. TNQ InGage just launched VR As A Service (VAAS) model that would give us a recurring subscription revenue. The team is also working towards launching products next year.

    TNQ Ingage – Startup Challenges

Team building was a challenge since there was no AR VR development talent pool then. As a result, the top management had to train the hires within the company through a rigorous process to overcome that. At the time one of the AR platforms/App called Jaadu that lets people scan objects, images and find the cheapest deal available across on-line & nearby stores didn’t work out since it was too early for consumers to download the App and change their buying behavior. This posed a threat back then.
