It’s been typical for those with money and prestige to spend millions on it since the Revolution and even before that.

Often we hear paintings getting sold for thousands of dollars or so at the auction these days, it makes you wonder what inspires someone to pay a fortune for artwork.

Important Motivations Among Art Buyers Worldwide as of January 2022
Important Motivations Among Art Buyers Worldwide as of January 2022

Let’s look at these 14 reasons why wealthy individuals prefer expensive paintings.

    Tax Avoidance
    Prestige
    Investment
    Diversifying your portfolio
    An aspect of your lifestyle
    A secure place for funds
    To enrich their environment
    To boost imagination
    To brag about it
    Quality
    To boost the rent
    To set up Art Galleries
    Cultural pride

    Tax Avoidance

In several countries, including the United States, tax regulations favor you if you purchase expensive art frequently. For example, if you sell an artwork and deposit funds in a bank, you are ought to incur capital gains tax on it, however, if you invest in another artwork with the same funds, you’ll escape paying taxes.

    Prestige

An artefact that looks perfect, and which was also made by a world-famous artist, is unique, and in certain scenarios is a well-known creation, will offer the bidder quite the thrill once the hammer drops at auction. A strong feeling when we see something we’ve wanted for years, the same feeling will indeed be amplified if it’s a Monet, Van Gogh, or Hearst.

    Investment

Most individuals buy stuff as they intend to invest in it. Some people buy houses to reside there. Some of them think of it as a long-term investment, an asset providing them with monthly earnings while also increasing in value over time. Art, too, is a strategic idea to invest in.

Owning modern art for €400 today might be worth €600,000 in 10 years. In about 10% of situations, indeed, fine art has consistently fetched increasingly better returns over the last 50 years.

One can be sure that when they get their hands on a Leonardo da Vinci, it will smash records. In 2017, his painting Salvador Mundi sold for a record-breaking $450 million. This is why it’s an insanely important aspect of why the rich buy art.

    Diversifying your portfolio

Because art is indeed going to increase in value if it already has a significant value and is somewhat risky, you may consider investing in some art to diversify your holdings, particularly if you’ve got a large, highly high-value portfolio or want to make art a small component of it.

The main principle, regardless of the worth of your investments, is to have variety. If you have a few high-risk stocks and a large number of safe stocks or you’re extremely wealthy, have billions in shares, bonds, and real estate, and would like to invest more in something risky but thrilling? Investing in artwork seems logical at this point.

    An aspect of your lifestyle

Previously, the wealthy went shopping for fashion, fancy cars, or yachts; but, times have changed. Art has become a must-have thing for the rich.  Nothing beats being an art lover if you’re glamorous and want people to appreciate it. It’s not only about possessing it; it’s more about being seen at auctions and exhibitions.

The global pandemic had affected the world economy but billionaires, in the selected group of countries, have improved their financial situation during the pandemic.

    A secure place for funds

While art is typically a high-risk asset, it has several unique advantages.

    • Art market rate fluctuations are different from share market price swings, implying that they could be used to hedge against a recession or crisis.
    • People purchase art during times of risks and uncertainties and profiting, such as during WWII. Today in nations with unstable economies and currencies that are subject to depreciation, the wealthy frequently invest in art as a means of diversifying their risks.

    To enrich their environment

Almost everyone wants their homes and offices to appear attractive and feel better in them, and regardless of whether us being wealthy or not, we design them to make the time we spend there more enjoyable. Rich people whether it’s their multimillion-dollar homes or the workplaces of the businesses they manage, they’ll do the same for it.

    To boost imagination

It’s no surprise some of the world’s top talented artists invest in art, and owning beautiful art on your walls will surely spark your imagination. Some celebs who possess art are incredibly innovative, and this isn’t limited to those who work in that industry. Startups and corporate leaders can be inspired by art as well. Perhaps it’s because artists are creative and bold, traits that entrepreneurs like and appreciate when they see a wonderful piece of artwork.

    To brag about it

Investing intelligently in the equity market or in a prosperous firm you manage, demonstrates your financial acumen. You may be flaunting by purchasing a fancy home, a yacht, or a Ferrari, but it is also something essential that you will utilize.

Even if it’s a solid investment, purchasing a work of art worth $1 million demonstrates exceptional choice, however, there’s something indulgent about it since it’s something you wouldn’t need but desire. When you’re wealthy, you’re more inclined to want to flaunt it, and art is a perfect way to do so.

    Quality

Usually, the rich purchase fancy clothing because they value quality over cost. You can own a masterpiece lasting hundreds of years and even be bequeathed to your children. The caliber of art gives you the feeling that you’re purchasing something valuable that will outlast your legacy.

Although kids who inherit valuable artwork seem to be keener on selling them than preserving them. This isn’t surprising, since parents and children often have different preferences, and the urge to sell the art mom and dad used to adore for a six-figure price might be impossible to deny for certain individuals.

There are a lot of billionaires all around the world but which country has most number of Billionaires?, Lets find out

    To boost the rent

If you possess a luxury condo that you rent to super-rich with taste, hanging some pricey artwork is one approach to boost the rent prices. Not only that, but it also raises the property’s worth. In some ultra-exclusive groups, art is anticipated to cost the same as a typical home, and a modest picture of Van Gogh’s starry night is believed to not cost about the same as a conventional house.

    To set up Art Galleries

The wealthy all across the world enjoy buying art and displaying it in exhibits where they discovered it, often with their signatures on it. In some circumstances, where self-interest is a prominent factor, there are very specific advantages to establishing art galleries. When the hella rich in China open an art gallery, it’s usually because it’s a tried-and-true method of obtaining approval for real estate deals.

    Cultural pride

Over the last 20 years, the quantity of pricey masterpieces from China and Africa specifically has increased dramatically, notably among purchasers from such countries, implying that when you are wealthy, it is natural to want to acquire fine art that makes you proud of where you came from and demonstrates your love of your culture.

There is no shortage of rich people all around the globe. Every day we hear the list lengthening. Also, every day a new name tops the list. The extravagant lifestyle, the desires of these people never come to an end. Among those, owning expensive things is another of their hobbies.

    Money laundering

We’ve now arrived at the truly evil aspect of the art business, namely, money laundering for organized crime. The wealthy people who earned a fortune through illegitimate ways would suppress their sources of wealth from the regulators, and expensive art deals are the optimal method to do so.

Now we know why pricing is very subjective, and even specialists have difficulty in determining value. Inflating the worth of a piece is simply based on what you want it to be.

Deals are frequently made behind closed doors and discreetly. Although current laws on how art sales are done have indeed been strengthened, it’s logical to conclude that money laundering remains a major factor in global art purchases.

    Conclusion

Even if they don’t know much about art, most people choose to have it because of their love or have some sentiment attached to it. They consider it as an investment as it helps them to diversify their portfolio. And lastly, they do want others to appreciate it if they have paid a high price for that artwork.

  • How to hire the Right Web Developer For Your Company? | 20 Must-Ask Questions While Hiring

To help your business succeed, you need employees that are dedicated and willing to do whatever it takes to see the company succeed. In the case of your business being heavily reliant on technology, it might be worth hiring a web developer.

They are responsible for designing and maintaining websites, as well as helping businesses develop their own websites if they don’t have one already. Experience

How long have you been developing websites? You can ask the web developer how long they’ve been developing websites by asking them if they have any previous experience, or if they’ve done any freelance work.

You can also ask them how many websites they’ve built or where they learned to develop websites.

    Total Works

How many websites have you personally worked on? The best way to find out how long a web developer has been in business is to ask them how many websites they’ve worked on. If they’re a newbie, there’s no way to know for sure. But if they’ve been around for a while and have built up some experience, this question will give you an idea of their level of expertise.

    Duration

How long will it take to build the website or web application I need? To answer this question, you need to know what you’re looking for. Do you want a simple website? Or do you want something more complex that requires more time and attention? If it’s the latter, then you’ll likely want to hire a professional web developer.

There are a few things that can help speed up the process:

    • Have an idea of what you want from your website or web application before contacting a developer so that they can get started on it sooner.
    • Have an idea of how much work needs to be done before hiring a developer so that there isn’t any ambiguity about what needs to be done and when it needs to be done (this makes sure everyone feels like they’re contributing).
    • Make sure that any images or files needed for your project are already available on your computer before contacting someone else so that they don’t have to spend unnecessary time downloading them again.

    Similar Works Before

Have you done work similar to what I am looking for, and can I see examples of your work in that area? This question is designed to help you gauge an idea about the candidate’s work. If the answer is “yes,” then it’s likely that the developer has worked with similar clients in the past, which means they’ll know how to handle your project. If you’re not sure, ask them!

    Package Details

How much will this cost, and what do your services include? There are two kinds of questions you can ask a web developer to help you pick the right one. The first is, “How much will this cost?” and the second is, “What services do you provide?” If you’re not sure how much your project will cost, it’s a good idea to get a quote from the web development company before you start on the work. That way, you’ll know what to expect from day one.

    Platform Used

What platform do you prefer to build on (WordPress, Drupal, etc.) and why? This question is one of the most important questions to ask when choosing a web developer. It can be difficult to choose between these platforms because they are all so similar in their functionality. However, there are some differences that could make one platform better than another for your business or project. For example, if you’re looking for a website builder that allows you to easily add your own customizations or content later on down the line, WordPress might be right for you. If you want a website builder with more powerful customization tools available at all times, Drupal might be more suited for your needs.

If you’re not sure which platform would work best for your project, talk with an experienced web developer about what he or she likes about each platform and how it will help with his or her job responsibilities. This should give you a good idea of whether one platform will be more beneficial than another!

    Portfolio

Do you have a portfolio I can look at? This is the most important question to ask because it’s the one that will help you decide whether or not to move forward with a developer. You should only hire someone if their portfolio is complete, professional, and speaks for itself.

There are two ways to go about finding a web developer’s portfolio: online and offline. Online portfolios are usually more complete than offline portfolios because they can be updated and revised as needed, but offline portfolios can often be more thorough and detailed than online ones. They’re also easier to find since there isn’t an app for every job in existence (although it’s worth noting that some very niche apps exist).

    CMS or Coding

Do you use a CMS or Coding? Why? This question is one of the most important ones to ask when hiring a web developer. This question will help you understand whether the job candidate uses CMS (Content Management System) or Coding to develop his task or project. Also, don’t forget to ask why he uses that particular method.

    Mode of Work

Will you create a new design or are you going to modify an existing template? You should ask this question because it will help you narrow down the field of potential candidates. If a developer is going to create a new design from scratch, they may not have the skills necessary to modify an existing template. This would be a waste of time and money for your company, so it’s important that you find out whether or not they can handle this before you hire them.

If a developer does have the skills necessary to modify an existing template, then they have the potential to save both time and money by offering their services at a lower price than someone who needs to start from scratch.

    Time Required

How long does it take for you to build a website? This is a great question to ask because it helps you get a sense of how dedicated the developer is to their craft. How long will it take them to do the work they’ve agreed to? Will they be able to meet your deadlines?

The answer will depend on a number of factors, including the complexity of your project and how much time you need them to dedicate. But generally speaking, if you’re looking for a web developer who can create something quickly and effectively, you’re probably looking at upwards of four weeks.

    Error Rectification

How much time will it take to resolve issues and rectify errors after completion of the website or application? What is the estimated timeline for this process? One of the most important questions to ask a developer is how long it will take to resolve issues and rectify errors after completion of the website or application. The sooner you can get your problem resolved, the better.

The best way to find out how long this process will take is by asking for some samples of past work. If you’re not sure what you’re looking for, ask about their experience in similar situations. A developer who has never worked on a project with similar problems may not have any idea how long it should take.

Another important factor is the estimated timeline for this process. Even if the developer provides an estimate that seems reasonable, it’s always best to get a second opinion from another expert before committing to any project.

    Compatibility

Will my website be compatible with all major browsers and mobile devices? Your website is one of your most important assets, and you need to make sure that it looks sharp and performs well in all major web browsers and mobile devices. One way to do this is by asking if your developer can guarantee that the site will be compatible with the latest versions of all major browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and Opera.

This will help you find a developer who can help you with future-proofing your site by keeping it up to date with the latest features. It’s also important to ask if they can provide support for any new versions of these browsers—as well as older ones—that might come out in the future.

    Search Engine Optimisation

Can you build me a website that is search engine optimized (SEO)? By asking this question, you will be able to find out if the developer has any experience in Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) because if they do then they will know exactly what needs to be done in order for the website to rank well on Google and other search engines like Bing and Yahoo!

You should also ask this question if you are planning on hiring an SEO expert because it will help you narrow down your choices when looking for someone who can help you with your project. You should also ask this question if you are planning on hiring a new web developer because it will give them some idea as to what kind of work they should expect from themselves while working on your project so that they can ensure that everything goes smoothly during their time working with you.

    Updates

How often will I receive updates on the progress of my website’s development or design? The best web developers will be able to answer this question within minutes. They know how much time it takes to build a site, and they can tell you right away whether or not they’re on track with your requirements. If you want to make sure that any online business will receive regular updates, then you need to work with a skilled web developer.

    Site Security

How does your company manage the security of your site? This is a question that can be difficult to answer, but it’s important for you to know. If the company is not taking any steps to protect its users from hacking, then it could be putting your business at risk. It’s good practice to ask this question before hiring anyone because it will help you determine if the person has any previous experience in security or not.

It’s also important that you ask this question because it will help you understand how they plan on protecting your data and what kind of resources they need in order to do so.

People face burnout that stems from various work-related issues. The individuals need to adapt strategies that would help them get through burnout.

    Ownership

Who owns the website once it is completed? When you’re looking to hire a web developer, you may be wondering who will own the website once it’s completed. The answer is: that it depends on the type of website you’re building and how important ownership is to you.

For example, if you’re planning on selling your company or getting into real estate development, then ownership of your website is going to be pretty important—but if you’re just renting out a couple of rooms in your home, it might not matter as much. In that case, there are other factors to consider when deciding who owns the site (like whether or not there will be an ongoing relationship between your company and the developer).

The bottom line is that it all depends on what kind of project your web developer has on their plate. If they’ve been working with companies like yours for a while now and have built up relationships with them over time (especially if they’ve helped them grow in some way), then they should have no problem giving up ownership of their work when the time comes.

    Preview

Do I get to preview the site before it goes live? When you’re working with a web developer, you want to know that you’re getting a product that’s going to do what you need and not just a bunch of features that will make your site look pretty but are never going to be useful for you. One way to tell if your web developer has the chops is by asking them this question: “do I get to preview the site before it goes live?”

The answer should be an unequivocal yes. The more you can see how the site is going to work before it goes live, the more confident you’ll feel in the process. If your web developer says no, or doesn’t answer at all, then it might be time to consider looking elsewhere.

    Images

What kind of images will you use for my website design? This will help you determine whether your developer takes pride in their work or if they’ll just slap something together without any care.

If your developer is comfortable with their work, they’ll be able to tell you exactly how many images they’ll need and what kinds of them they want. If not, that’s a red flag! You want a web developer who has a firm grasp on the technical aspects of building a site but also knows how to make it look professional and appealing.

    Followup Post-Launch

Will there be any follow-up service or support offered by your company after the website launch? When you’re selecting a web developer, it’s important to ask about how long it will take the company to respond to your questions about your new website. Some developers are quick to answer your questions and offer a ton of support after the site goes live, while others may not be as responsive.

If you want someone who is going to be there for you every step of the way, then look for a company that has an excellent customer service team.

    Right Fit

How do I know that you are the right fit for me? It’s a good question! The truth is, there’s no easy answer to this. When choosing a web developer, it’s important to consider their experience, their portfolio, and their level of expertise in the kind of work that you need to be done.

But it’s also important to ask yourself what your own expectations are for your web development team—especially if you’re a business owner or entrepreneur who wants to be able to manage your site while they work on it.

You need to know about planning. Though it’s obvious by the name, several event planners are not able to plan. As an event planner, you have strict deadlines and you should hit those deadlines earlier rather than later. A lot of event planners think they can delay a bit but that’s equal to inviting the client’s wrath. Those event planners who tend to procrastinate should know that their procrastination will lead to difficulties. So, you need to plan well not just for yourself but also for your team and clients.

    Listen to Your Clients

A lot of people go into the event planning business with their perception of what a good party or event looks like. You should bring in your ideas but in the end, your client needs to be happy with your services while you cater to their needs. If your client comes to you and says, “Oh, I want a balloon themed party, ‘ and you bluntly disagree with the idea, it means you are not listening to the client. A client’s requirement has to be met; after all, you’re being paid for meeting certain expectations. Add your creativity while adhering to the customer’s core requirements, and listen to your clients. The event is meant for the customer and he or she needs to be happy.

    Manage Your Finances

You need to be good with finances. A lot of event planners don’t know about managing money. As an event planner, you work with a tight budget. It’s good to be cool and awesome while planning the event but don’t go overboard with the budget. You always need to have an emergency fund to bank on if things go awry.

For example, if you order a cake and the baker doesn’t show up, you need to have some extra money to order an alternative. If you do not have basic financial skills, work on them immediately. Your clients will be not fond of your service if they are forced to spend more than their budget.

    Be Prepared for Everything

Creativity is the secret sauce. Through creativity, event planners can find solutions on the spot when everyone else is flipping out. As an event planner, you often troubleshoot when least expected, even though you assume everything is planned well. Your clients can turn the course of the entire event in five minutes before and you have to be creative to solve such issues.

What if the caterer turns up late? You arrange for quick bites. If there are electricity problems, the generator you had as backup comes to the rescue. The scenarios are innumerable, you may not be able to prepare for all of them. However, even a small attempt at mitigating the effects goes a long way.

    Learn to Handle Criticism

One of the most important skills you need is having nerves of steel. As an event planner, you organize the entire event and also lead the way for others. You need to be strong enough to handle client criticism.

You need to be disciplined to ensure your team does what is to be done and they are not slacking off. If something goes wrong, you bear the brunt as the lead. You need to have nerves of steel to tackle situations when you or your team members get stressed out due to unforeseen circumstances.

A lot of event planners start to buckle under stress. That’s when events go wrong, learn to handle criticism. Learn to keep calm in the midst of the storm because everyone looks up to you to make the event a success.

    Research About Event Planning

Now on to the business side of being an event planner.  So go and research how many planners are in your area, what do they work on, and the potential clients in the area. If you live in an area people don’t have money to hire an event planner, you will only sit at home and be frustrated. After all, people won’t be able to afford your services.

If you want to be a freelance event planner or a workforce member, you need to do your research first. When it comes to finding potential clients. figure out if you want to work b2b so business to business or b2c (business to customer).

    Get Experience

Finally, you have all of your event planning skills in your pocket – you know your target group, your market, how many event planners are there in your area, and potential clients. However, it only matters when you have real-time experience. If you don’t have event planning experience, start by organizing small parties and events for friends. Do such events for free or for a small fee and then start using their references for your portfolio. Ensure you get enough footage like pictures and videos of the party you organized because that’s going to build your first portfolio item which you can then show to paying clients.

If you have no event planning experience, start helping out here and there. If you can get an internship, grab it. You can learn a lot from an event planner that’s been in the business for a long time. Sometimes you start two to three months ahead and there is a lot of turning wheels you need to keep an eye on.

Do your homework, make sure your basic event planning and organization skills are up to the mark before you start setting events. Otherwise, bad reviews are inevitable and that’s not good for your business.

    Choose Your Specialization

It’s better to specialize in a certain type of event. For instance, you may plan a kids’ party. But if you are not into kids and have an “it’s another job” mindset, it will never be as amazing as planning a press event or a company party that you’re passionate about. You may initially take up all kinds of events in the beginning, but there will be a time when you’ll have to specialize.

To make sure there are enough events for you to sell, it’s a good idea to specialize in a certain type of event. You can be a wedding planner, kids party planner, company event planner, or press event planner. If you have public relations experience, you could easily cross over into PR events. There are so many events like hen parties, and bachelor parties, you can even plan funerals.

Specializing in an event sets you off from the crowd and it will help you sell that event without too much competition. Figure out if there is anyone that is doing the same type of event that you want to specialize in.

    Get a Website

You need to get yourself a website, you need to start posting the reviews you get from friends, smaller jobs, or employers. Add photos, videos and other graphics that reflect the assignments you have taken up. People need visuals to rate an event planner.

Documenting every step of the way is a good idea to get your event planning business off the ground. Create a workflow that fits you. Make sure your workflow has your clients face minimal or no stress. The same goes for you. Your workflow needs to be smooth, it should be a template to quick-start planning events.

    Conclusion

Planning an event is a very big responsibility, everything depends on you and how you follow all the steps to make the event a success. Those who are venturing into event planning for the first time, need to research and be aware of how to plan properly, through this only one can become a good event planner.

    Portfolio

Here we give you 10 tips to build a good and efficient freelancer portfolio to showcase your talent and abilities.

How to Create a Portfolio as a Freelancer? (15 Tips)

    1. Choose Your Audience First

Your freelancer portfolio should be specific to the professional you aim to cater to. Take time to research what kind of services your clients need, which services are the most sought after and which ones are the highest-paid. See how much of those can you include in your portfolio.

There are many freelancers who have to deal with clients that are unwilling to pay on time and at the correct time. Try to find a solution so that there are minimum chances of that happening.

There are millions of online platforms that help you make an impressive online portfolio/website. One such platform is Jimdo. It offers services to a wide range of professions like bloggers, writers, designers, developers and more. It’s really easy to make a portfolio on this website.

If you are a graphic designer then you should use white space not only in your portfolio but also in your designs. Use this tip to make your portfolio two times better and more eye-catching.

    6. Rearrange and Tell a Good Story

It’s always a wise decision to constantly change and update your portfolio. Rearrange what’s already there and tell it in a better way. This works particularly well with physical portfolios but you can also do this with online portfolios. Focus on the type of work you want and the people you’d like to work with.

Always remember, the career-defining and your best projects go first. And it’s never a bad idea to also include a few of your independent side-projects. On the whole, the person who is reading your portfolio should be convinced that you have skills and you are sincere.

    7. A Bit of Show Off to Prove That You are Good

Let’s start with a fair warning, don’t overdo this. You don’t want others to think that you are like the conceited man in “The Little Prince”. Your main aim here is to show that you are capable in your field of work.

If you have some really happy past clients, a favourite professor then you can always ask them to write a brief but good recommendation for you. This is important. If you have done some good work then you deserve some appreciation for it.

Keep a simple and sophisticated cover to present the portfolio. In the first few pages, you can include a brief and relevant description of yourself. Give contact information. If you are planning to pitch a publication as a freelancer and are confused. Here’s everything you need to know before pitching.

    8. Easy Navigation

You may have some really good things to add to your portfolio but it might all go to waste if you cannot arrange your portfolio in a way that the reader finds it easy to navigate through. Make it as systematic as possible. If it’s a physical portfolio then make sure to include page numbers, chapter headings, colour coordination.

Arrange the content in chronological order. And then comes the background. You don’t want the artist inside you to let loose while you are writing your portfolio. Make sure that the background doesn’t distract the reader from the actual content. Use neutral colours to highlight the graphic elements. Order and simplicity are very important.

    9. Include Testimonials and Feedbacks

Including testimonials and feedback will add more to your portfolio. It will also help to build trust because nowadays clients are looking for results. So, testimonials received from other clients will add more value.

Don’t hesitate to include your short-term projects or the work you have done for free just as a project task. Everything that you have done in the past just to improve your career will add some value to your portfolio.

    10. Include a Photo of Yourself

Just because we are talking about photos doesn’t mean that you go and take an artsy monochrome shot of yourself and put it on your portfolio. We are talking of a professional-looking and high-quality portrait of you that don’t go beyond your head and shoulders.

You can use tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDraw, Adobe InDesign, Issuu and Calameo to get a high-quality image. Avoid white backgrounds. Online magazines hate them.

    11. Include Case Studies

If your clients are ready to share their stories with you, don’t hesitate to include their case studies in your freelance portfolio. Even small case studies will also help you to get big projects.

Your client’s success stories show that you can bring results and also shows the contribution and dedication you have given to the job. A screenshot of a recent or updated portfolio website links to newly published articles or add a logo with a link, each giving you a chance of winning some clients over.

    12. Value Your Work

If you are a beginner then you have to include all the projects you have done in your portfolio. Many new freelancers don’t value their work or charge less. Always remember that only if you value your work then others will value it. You can include all the short-term and long-term projects you have done.

Also, don’t hesitate to include the tasks you have done for any internship program. Many freelancers also ignore that the projects on which they have worked for free show their passion and love for the work. Include all the things that show your creativity and passion. It will enhance your portfolio more.

    13. Give a Call-to-action

You are doing all these things because you want to grow your freelancing business. Right!? So, here you are selling yourself or the better word would be your skillset. But after all your efforts what if you are unable to close the sale. You will end up with de-motivation or failure.

So what you can do to minimize this failure. By giving a Call-to-action, yes! You have to include a call-to-action at the end of your portfolio and of course! at end of each blog and sales copy.

    14. Stick to One Niche

Don’t try to put all the skills you have or the work you have done in your portfolio. Just try to stick in one niche and update your freelance portfolio with a relevant skillset. No one can be an expert in everything so try to show your expertise only. This way your clients will be sure that you are eligible for the specific project and also you are the expert in that field.

For example, if you are a web designer then you can add about your web development skills but if you have graphic designing skills too, don’t mention that. Be professional because your portfolio will decide everything in your freelancing career.

    15. Keep Updating Portfolio

Do you update your portfolio too often? No!. You have to update your portfolio often because it will help you to tell your clients that you are always open to learning. When you update your portfolio it shows that you are learning new skills and improving abilities. In the future, it will also show your expertise and experience and also it will be easy for you to land a high-paying project.

Just because we are talking about photos doesn’t mean that you go and take a really artsy monochrome shot of yourself and put it on your portfolio. We are talking of a professional looking and high quality portrait of you that doesn’t go beyond your head and shoulders. All of us want to bag that dream interview and live the plan that we sketched out in our mind. Well, that takes a lot of effort and some really good presentation skills. A good portfolio or a resume is one of the most important tools that we need to succeed. Make sure that you give adequate amount of thinking and time to create the right portfolio. It’s worth the hard work.
