  • Capgemini India to Hire 45,000 Employees in 2025 Amid AI Talent Push

This year, Capgemini India expects to hire between 40,000 and 45,000 people, despite mounting concerns about hiring in the information technology (IT) sector. Between 35 and 40% of these will be lateral hiring, CEO Ashwin Yardi told the Hindu Business Line.

The number of projects being routed to India is steadily increasing for Capgemini, which already has about 175,000 employees there. India is becoming a more alluring delivery base as clients seek to reduce expenses and increase efficiency. According to Yardi, the company’s total sales performance is anticipated to benefit from this demand.

AI Takes Center Stage in Capgemini’s Workforce Strategy

The French IT services company’s Indian division has partnered with more than 50 institutions and campuses to facilitate hiring, and the current season’s hiring process is already under way. Early artificial intelligence (AI) training will be a major priority for new hires, guaranteeing that young talent is ready for the rapidly changing AI landscape of today.

Capgemini vs TCS & Infosys: Who’s Hiring in 2025?

Capgemini’s hiring news follows Tata Consultancy Services’ (TCS) statement that it would lay off around 12,000 workers, or 2% of its global workforce, over the course of the year. On the other hand, Salil Parekh, the CEO of Infosys, affirmed the company’s intention to increase its workforce: “In the first quarter, we hired over 17,000 people (gross hiring), and we intend to hire roughly 20,000 college graduates this year,” he told The Times of India.

WNS Acquisition and Its Impact on Capgemini’s Future

In the meantime, Capgemini announced last month that it would acquire business process outsourcing (BPO) company WNS for $3.3 billion. The goal of the transaction was to combine the companies’ strengths and satisfy the increasing demand from businesses for sophisticated, automated services. The old BPO model may be impacted by AI, which might have an effect on the industry’s long-term earnings, according to some analysts. Nevertheless, Capgemini anticipates that the WNS agreement will increase profits rather rapidly.

By 2026, the company anticipates a 4% increase in profits per share (EPS), followed by a 7% increase the following year. However, the overall business outlook is still cautious. A recent Reuters story claims that Capgemini has reduced its full-year revenue forecast because of weak demand and unpredictability in the world economy. In contrast to its previous prediction of -2% to +2% growth, the company now anticipates growth in the range of -1% to +1%.

India’s IT Job Market: Layoffs, Hope, and the AI Shift

Recent industry data gathered by Nasscom and independent market experts indicates that between 2023 and 2025, over 100,000 jobs were lost in India’s tech sector, primarily in non-digital and mid-level management positions. As a result, Capgemini’s expansion plans provide a unique glimmer of hope in a conservative workforce.

Capgemini’s collaborations with Indian universities aim to develop skills in AI, machine learning, cloud computing, and cybersecurity in addition to recruiting. These collaborations aim to increase recent graduates’ AI preparedness by providing specialised learning materials, internship opportunities, and exposure to real-world projects.

  • Top Companies in India That Hire Without a Degree | Get a Job in MNC or IT Without a College Degree

Most individuals, particularly in India, believe that a college degree is required to get employed by a company or to obtain a white-collar job. • Cognizant to Hire 20000 Freshers in 2025 to Boost Talent Pipeline

Cognizant, a provider of information technology (IT) services, intends to hire 20,000 new hires by 2025. The company wants to broaden its talent pyramid and get ready for managed services and software development driven by artificial intelligence (AI).

“Since we are now receiving a lot of work related to managed services, the 20,000 new hires will now form our pyramid. Therefore, that will begin to accelerate our headcount,” said Cognizant’s Chief Executive Officer Ravi Kumar S. He informed about this development at a news conference following the results of the March quarter.

“It’s a good time to re-baseline the pyramid now that organic growth has returned,” Kumar continued. In the IT industry, a pyramid structure typically means that there are more people with less experience and fewer with higher expertise, which lowers wage bills.

Due to uncertainties in the market climate, Cognizant’s Indian peers have refrained from disclosing the precise hiring goals for FY26 at the same time as the announcement of the fresher recruitment. However, according to management commentary thus far, the top five IT companies are expected to add between 80,000 and 84,000 IT jobs during the current fiscal year.

Executives from the company have noted that the real number can fluctuate greatly. Cognizant’s own development platform, FlowSource, which blends machine-generated and human code, will be used to train the new hires. In reference to the AI-first method being implemented at the freshmen level, Ravi stated, “When you’re doing it for the first time and doing it that way, that’s the only way you’ll know how to code.”

It is anticipated that implementing code help platforms early on will increase productivity throughout the development cycle. Additionally, Cognizant is still hiring specialist candidates from Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs) for positions as full-stack developers and power programmers.

Exploring New Opportunities with Fresh Talent

The company, which is headquartered in Belcan, is also investigating the development of new positions as part of the “Vector 3 of agentification”. This term refers to next-generation service models that may not necessitate conventional engineering skills.

The CEO highlighted new prospects for non-engineers with operations, domain, and other experience, saying, “These are labour pools we didn’t address in the past.” According to Ravi, the services major employs over 60,000 people who joined the company straight out of college and have worked there for more than ten years. “

And that is the middle management of the company, which is the core of the business.” With talent depth in both India and the US, Kumar claimed that Cognisant stands out in the Global Capability Centre (GCC) market thanks to its extensive industry-spanning subject expertise. As of right now, the company has six GCC transactions, and more than twenty are in the works.

  • Siddharth Chaturvedi on How Not to Lose Your Patience While Building a Startup

An opinion shared by Siddharth Chaturvedi, Founder and MD, Boys and Machines.

Buckle up to start your journey in building a business from scratch. The culture of start-ups is very central and flows directly from the founder. A comparatively smaller team set to achieve the same goals and align to make a difference in a sector of their choice. The startup trend in India is not a new thing. The purpose has diverted but the business values and beliefs remains the same. Corporate practice in India grew after the dotcom years at the turn of the century.

Coming specific to the automotive sector, the pre-owned car market has been unorganized for decades. Cars used to sell through word of mouth and the buyer was about 50% unsure of quality or value he is getting out of the deal. We all relied on the known mechanic to check out the car before nodding on the deal. It was high time to organize this gold mine of a market to cut down middleman and provide value to customers with the right quality at the right price.

Having the right state of mind and believing in yourself are the pillars to make big things come alive. Patience is one of the strong foundations that propels the power of compounding in action. Sometimes, you become overwhelmed when things may not work out at the start.

While starting Boys and Machines, it was always a challenge to strike a fine balance between keeping your expenses low for longer sustainability and to hire the best possible team to ensure the back bone of the organisation is solid. At the end of the day the biggest reason for failure of an organisation is either higher expenses or a weak team to deliver steady results and manage the load. As our business model uses rented properties, it was painstaking to figure out the right showroom locations at reasonable prices. The process of choosing the right locations for your business can become lengthy and you have to make many decisions along the way that can either make or break the new organization tight on cash. Hiring the right people for different departments is even tougher. Because you have limited resources and the decisions become heavy. It is the team that builds the organization and the strain to get the team right needs patience and determination.

At the beginning days, we were into a lot of planning. We gave impeccable attention to detail on every little task and that gave us the confidence that things might work out. The planning phase is very important to gain confidence. When you put your thoughts on paper and do research, confidence flows! A team that understands your vision and are ready to give the sweat to make to convert that vision into a mission and materialize it, confidence builds up. These two aspects can help you not to lose patience while starting up your organization.

Now, it can happen that the results you are actually getting is away from projected expectations. And believe me, you will never be satisfied as your hunger to grow also increases with rising sales. We strive to grow every day as a team and the only game plan that we have is to give our 100% as a team every day and face, tackle, and over-come challenges that show up. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.

When running a competitive high-stake business like luxury pre-owned cars, keeping patience is of prime importance. Losing patience just results in narrowing your mind which makes it difficult to find solution. The higher the stakes the more patience you need to have as it gives you a stable mind to assess the situations and come out of them.

Business is all about keeping an open mindset and work with your eyes and ears open. Grab opportunities and tackle difficult situations. One tip is to don’t get overwhelmed on either sides of the spectrum. When the business is not materializing as expected, put down your head, figure out what is going wrong and work out solutions. When the business is booming, keeping your heads straight focus on maintaining the momentum. Let the power of compounding do its work. You just need to ensure you are doing the right things at the right time.

To all the newbie entrepreneurs who are ready to take the challenge of starting-up and making a difference, be patient your time has come. You are already set out to achieve great things when you made the decision of starting-up. Get your home-work done by doing a thorough research on the business you are planning to scale. A very good practice that gives you good knowledge is to work under someone who is into same industry to understand the things which you would have to face once you start your own venture. The work will help you understand the business better and you can learn things that can multiply results.

Secondly, keep your expenses minimal. You may churn out some cash right from the start but the cash outflow should be minimum to maximize re-investment opportunity. Again, the compound effect works well! Let it do the hard work for you. You just want to ensure that the business has enough cash when required.

And last but not the least, give your 100% to the venture you are set out to start-up. Hard work is a necessary and everyone should go through the struggle phase. This will make you strong and give confidence to make better decisions when the time comes and huge resources are at stake. All the very best!

  • HR Strategies to hire talent from tier 2/3 cities: Paid internship training program

This article is contributed by Mr. Bala Kumaran, CEO, Brandstory.

Running and developing your own business is no easy feat, I’ll tell you this from my personal experience in building, scaling, branding, and managing a startup of my own. Boiling right down to it, the very first challenge that most startups face is HR, that’s right – Human Resources!

That is because, in a bustling digital world like ours, there is no dearth of opportunity for people with the right skill set. This, of course, makes recruiting all the more difficult when we consider the startup ecosystem.

One of the first things startup owners must learn to do is, understand when to take off their entrepreneur hat, and put themselves in the shoes of their potential employees. Then, weigh questions ranging from why someone would want to work for them, to the growth opportunities they have within the organization.

Although there are no magic mantras to solve this problem, there are a few rather nifty strategies that can help proliferate a much better hiring experience! Something that can likely be implemented across the board for startup owners who are still on the hunt for the right skill sets!

The following are the approaches that we had implemented with Brandstory.in –

    Leveraging Satellite Offices

A satellite office is just a branch of a company that is physically separate from the main office or headquarters. That’s right! You just have to go right to the core of it, and place yourself right in the center of wherever the talent is at!

When a company hires, it is not just hiring an employee, it is hiring a skill set, a skill set that helps contribute to the one thing that customers across any industry appreciate and that is – quality! Skilled employees make a company’s product, service, or customer support what it is and help brand and scale the company’s reputation over time.

This means every hire you make is an investment towards this goal. Hence, you would seek to make your workplace the most appealing to your workforce, in the hopes of attracting new talent and retaining your team!

For instance, many people resent having to relocate, and would much rather live and work in the city they currently live in. This is exactly the issue a satellite office will help curb – by eliminating the need to relocate and hence automatically making your company a better, more appealing place to work at for any potential hires in that area.

Hiring Freshers from Tier 2 and 3 Cities

Just the mention of freshers often scares people off, but the truth is they can be one of the most loyal, and valuable additions to a company over time. However, you will need to invest your time and resources in transforming them into the skilled professionals you have always wanted to be working alongside you, within your organization.

This holds to be especially true when hiring from Tier 2 and 3 cities because unlike metro cities there aren’t 100s of companies desperately scavenging for talent where you are competing with both funded and non funded enterprises. Hence, it would both provide freshers residing within Tier 2 and 3 cities a better chance to develop their skills, while also giving you a stream of hand-trained talent flowing into your organization!

This is precisely why Brandstory has long been working to identify talented individuals in these cities, and providing opportunities for them to further themselves all the while ensuring good placements within the organization itself – through its paid internship program.

I am proud to say that, after years of refinement, we at Brandstory have developed one of the finest training and development internship programs within the digital industry. We had worked to develop an extensive curriculum integrating hands-on work experience in which freshers can work on real-time projects; all while being mentored by experts in the field.

This type of training program and hiring regimes would probably prove to be helpful for startups who are looking to attract fresher talent from Tier 2 and 3 cities across India and the world! This is especially because these new candidates can be shaped from the ground up to reflect your brand’s core work ethics, values, and morales all the while adhering to the quality standards and expectations as benchmarked by your respective organization.

Top 7 Tech Trends Every HR Must know in 2020
Every company must know a few tech trends in the market. As we near the end of 2020 lets look at some Top Tech Trends Every HR Must know in 2020.

Compensation: Paying Out A Tier 1 City Payscale in Tier 2

This is perhaps a very lucrative opportunity for your organization to quickly snatch up the local talent, and absorb them into your organization. Due to a dynamic spread in the cost of living, companies often payout lower salaries to employees located in Tier 2 cities, but that may not benefit your organization when you consider the long run.

A higher pay eliminates the need for people within Tier 2 cities to migrate to Tier 1 cities, all the while enabling them to adhere to a much higher standard of living. This sort of recruitment strategy not only helps you attract talent faster but also allows you to keep your team happy and less likely to start looking for other opportunities.

Rajesh Subramanian is the Founder of Ghoshak. He talks about the Hiring culture of a bootstrapped startup and gives advice on hiring the right team

Summing It Up In A Nutshell

We can likely agree that recruitment is one of the biggest challenges companies face in the 21st century. However, we can also agree that it makes sense that the problem would be drastically reduced if people sought out your company or organization as a place they just have to work at!

So, hopefully, these HR hiring strategies and the advent of paid internship training programs can eventually help startup owners bridge the gap between their requirements and talented personnel!
