  • CloudKeeper Expands Its Cloud Cost Optimisation Capabilities With the Acquisition of WiseOps

A pioneering platform that specialises in Amazon Web Services (AWS) cost and use optimisation, WiseOps, was recently acquired by CloudKeeper, a firm that offers full cloud cost optimisation services from a recent acquisition.

In spite of the fact that the corporation did not disclose the financial parameters of the transaction, the acquisition was finalised using a combination of cash and equity.

An undisclosed sum was obtained by the company through a pre-seed funding round that was conducted by CORE91.VC in December of last year. It claims to have a customer base of fifty clients and has achieved revenue of more than one hundred thousand dollars up to this point.

    So, What Exactly Is WiseOps?

WiseOps is well-known for its AI-driven recommendations and automated optimisations, which enable teams to dramatically cut their spending on cloud services without sacrificing performance or workflow efficiency.

Clients now have access to an end-to-end cloud optimisation solution that offers increased savings and workflow efficiency. This is made possible by the integration of WiseOps’ intelligent technologies into CloudKeeper’s robust ecosystem.

By focussing on engineering, WiseOps has differentiated itself in the field of Amazon Web Services (AWS) cost optimisation. The suite of intelligent tools that it provides offers implementations of cost-saving initiatives across all AWS services that can be carried out with a single click and can be integrated smoothly into the flow of work. The AI-driven recommendations and automated optimisations that WiseOps offers are what set it apart from other cloud management solutions. These features enable organisations to consistently cut their cloud spending without sacrificing performance or workflow efficiency.

    The Future

The co-founder of WiseOps, Ronak Goyal, stated that this creates a tremendous opportunity for both WiseOps and CloudKeeper to engage in innovative activities and provide excellent value to their respective customers. “The integration of our technology and experience is something that we are looking forward to doing in order to provide even more powerful solutions for cloud cost optimisation.”

According to Praneet Chandra, who is also a co-founder of WiseOps, “Fifteen months ago, Ronak and I founded WiseOps in response to companies struggling with rising costs and cloud infrastructure challenges, which led to layoffs. With our very first client, we were able to cut their cloud bill by fifty percent. This launched our career.”

    🧩
According to Deepak Mittal, co-founder and CEO of CloudKeeper, WiseOps was the piece of the puzzle that was missing.

CloudKeeper has evolved into a cloud cost optimisation solution that is genuinely comprehensive as a result of its partnerships with these companies. Mittal went on to say that this will make it possible for us to serve a wider variety of customers, to handle more complicated use cases, and to assist businesses in optimising and engineering their cloud infrastructures in a more efficient manner.

  • Why Did Google Stadia Fail to Impress Gamers?

If you are someone who loves gaming, Google’s Stadia is perfect for your games and entertainment purposes. Launched in November 2019, Stadia make your favourite games instantly accessible no matter where you are.

It’s apparent that Stadia’s technology has been proven and works at scale, as evidenced by the recent successful launch of Cyberpunk 2077 on Stadia, gameplay on all types of platforms, including iOS, extending our slate of YouTube integrations, and our global expansions.

It was an attempt by Google to join the video games and entertainment industry by creating this platform. Unlike Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft, Google’s focus was on cloud-based streaming, which means that instead of purchasing real gear like the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, consumers only need a compatible device, such as a phone or tablet, and they can play from anywhere.

    Unsuccessful Launch
    Poor Advertising Plan
Falling Back in Delivering Better Service
    Misconceptions About the Gaming Market
Stadia Was Like a Stranded Product on Google’s Platform

    What Is Google Stadia?

Stadia is a cloud gaming service introduced by Google. It was a new type of gaming platform that does not involve any console requirement to gain gaming experience. Instead, Google Stadia allows the users to play their games on any available screen over the internet.

    Google Stadia
    Google Stadia

Google Stadia was introduced on 19th November 2019 and discontinued on 1st February 2021. Even after being a Google product with a great concept, Stadia failed to create its place in the market.

There can be many reasons for the failure of the Stadia such as:

    Unsuccessful Launch

Unfortunately for Google, the program received backlash when it first launched about a year and a half ago. The reviews suggested that the management could have devoted more effort to working out Stadia’s faults. From there, things only seemed to become worse, culminating in the latest studio shutdown and discoveries that made social media news.

    Google Stadia Reviews
    Google Stadia Reviews

Whenever one adds in claims of odd money management and an apparent misunderstanding of how the games industry works whenever it comes to AAA ports, the streaming service has had a hard go of it recently. Stadia’s potential employers dropped 68% lower according to the business reports, a year after its unsuccessful launch.

Critics instantly warned users against using the service because of its limited game catalogue and several technical concerns. It has also failed to acquire traction, even though COVID-19 was witnessing one of the most significant increases in gaming popularity in the medium’s history. So, when other gaming platforms gained popularity Stadia was losing its day by day. Which was strange because Google had Stadia’s back.

Google Stadia Active User Count Of The Year 2019-2020.

    Poor Advertising Plan

Now, in circumstances like these, at least the advertisements and brand awareness go up. Since this was a gaming platform the creators did try and reach out to its audience (Gen Z) but, Stadia had received its fair share of setbacks on social media. On February 26, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier published an article explaining, Google’s Stadia strategy and also tweeted about it.

    Jason Schreier on Google Stadia
    Jason Schreier on Google Stadia

The article gave details outlining the platform’s growth from inception to debut in November 2019, “although Schreier claimed that the corporation was spending tens of millions of dollars on each Stadia port that went viral on social media.

Essentially, instead of investing those resources toward independent developers or Stadia’s studios to create unique content for the service, Google was paying Ubisoft and other AAA video game developers ridiculous sums to bring their latest titles to Stadia.”

Paying millions of dollars for games that had already been launched was even more distressing news, given that Google had only announced the closing of its in-house studios a few weeks previously. Instead of being developed by Google, all original content created solely for Stadia will have to come through partnerships with other studios.

Overall, Google STADIA has failed to live up to its creator’s expectations of being a game-changing platform. It doesn’t appear to be getting any better, either, given its bumpy history.

Falling Back in Delivering Better Service

During the launch event of Stadia, There were many promises done by the speaker.

    Google Stadia Launch
    Google Stadia Launch

Stadia is not constrained by the limitation of traditional console systems. Instead, we have built a truly flexible, scalable, and modern platform that allows us to push performance beyond what was previously considered possible. This architecture gives us even more flexibility to scale. And thanks to fast transfer speeds between the Stadia instances in our data center, our platform can connect instances to dynamically expand the capabilities, along with the need of your games. As a developer, you’re used to being forced to tone down your creative ambition, [which is] limited by the hardware. But our vision with Stadia is that the processing resources available will scale up to match your imagination. In this new generation, the data center is your platform. Revealed by Stadia Head of Engineering Majd Bakar during the launch event.

However, when the product was made in use, the reality found was quite different from the explanation. Stadia failed to survive users test and create a place in the market. Many users report claiming Stadia slow servers with poor resolution. Hence, this also added to the list of “drawbacks of Stadia”.

Growth Of Indian Gaming Industry During Pandemic
The Indian Online Gaming Industry is growing exponentially fast and is expected to be worth $1.1 billion by 2021, this is because of the Covid 19 pandemic.

    Misconceptions About the Gaming Market

Google is a big name in the market. However, this name is majorly applied in cloud services only. It was the first time creation of a gaming product by Google. Hence, it can be assumed that Google was not aware of the trends going on in the market and might have a misconception about it.

The gaming market no longer lacks any technology-related limits. Instead, it is the place where much new technology takes part as the first trial. Google might have taken the gaming market still as a newbie and didn’t minded to work more on the project.

Stadia’s Game and Entertainment was the first in-house gaming studio developed by Stadia. It was pulled off after one year of discontinuing Stadia. The gaming studio was given the charge of creating exclusive games. However, the decision of pulling it off caused others a hazy impression of Google.

Creating games takes time and the decision of closing the Studio within one year of stadia affected the employees working in the studio with multi-year reassurance. All these indicate the misconception that Google has related to the gaming industry and indirectly caused the failure of the platform as a whole.

Stadia Was Like a Stranded Product on Google’s Platform

The sentence stranded in a place might seem like an exaggeration to use for Stadia. However, in reality, the only connection between Stadia and other Google platforms was from 4K live on YouTube.

These factors can indirectly affect the popularity of newly introduced products. Stadia was too late to realize this. It took the whole year for Stadia to be included in the 2020’s Chromecast with Google TV.

For the initial months, Stadia was known to work with Pixel phones only. However, with the launch of Pixel 6, Stadia was nowhere to be seen in its bundle. Whereas, Stadia was marketed as a major point in the selling of Pixel phone.

Stadia was forgotten by Google at such limits that Xbox provides YouTube premium as its perk. However, Google didn’t consider using the same tactic for its brand. With all these points, it can be assumed that Stadia was long forgotten even before its discontinuation causing a few percent of damage to its popularity which led to its failure.

    Conclusion

Google Stadia was created with much hope and as a Google-backed product. Yet, at many points, Google failed to impress the gamers with Stadia causing an ultimate decision of discontinuing the service. Stadia was created as a gaming platform that can be used on any normal screen rather than using the console. However, due to many issues, it was pulled off in 2021 by Google. Some of the estimated reasons behind the failure of Stadia are shared above.

    FAQs

The Internet can be considered as a miracle in our life, which changes the outlook of our world. Thanks to the internet, our life has become much easier. It wouldn’t be wrong to call the internet the greatest invention of the modern world. The internet has connected everyone and converted this huge world into a small global village.

In this technologically advance and IT-dominated world, cloud computing is the new player. The days are long gone where you only have computer hard drives, where we used to store data and run programs. Now, because of the internet, we have the cloud computing system to do that.

Cloud computing enables us to store, manage and process data through the internet. Basically, it is a prototype that provides on-demand network access to shared computing resources.

Now to be specific, there are three delivery models of cloud computing and they are: SaaS, IaaS and PaaS

Today, in this article we are going to discuss PaaS and the market size of the PaaS industry. So, let’s get started.

“With the cloud, individuals and small businesses can snap their fingers and instantly set up enterprise-class services.”

    FAQ

What is Platform as a Service (PaaS)?

The first question that arises in our mind when we hear PaaS is, What is PaaS?. To be specified PaaS also known as Platform as a service is one of the delivery models of cloud computing that deals with application development with the hardware and software tools provided by the third party.

This model gives the user a free pass to develop and run the new applications without installing any hardware or software and also provides the necessary components needed for the deed.

How does Platform as a Service (PaaS) Work?

PaaS is provided through public, private, and hybrid clouds. They mainly provide an infrastructure for the development of an application. One can just have their access through a web browser.

This is mostly a pay per use basis service, although there is an option of the monthly fee as well, where the users have to pay the provider per month for the service.

A PaaS provider offers operating systems, database management tools, infrastructure, development tools, middleware, and other important equipment needed in the cloud environment.

Pros and Cons of Platform as a Service (PaaS)

PaaS as a service is gradually becoming a very significant part of the cloud computing industry.

There are many reasons why people prefer it, some of them are:

    Pros

    • The first and foremost reason would be cost-saving; it is probably the most important one. The pay per use basis barred the enterprise to use more expenses, this cannot be possible if in-house hardware and software are used.
    • The user can access it from anywhere and at any time, thus giving a free pass to people from all around the world to collaborate in the development of an application.
    • Using in-house resources and managing can take a lot of time which may result in delays. Developing application tends to be faster with the help of PaaS as the resources are managed automatically here.
    • Any kind of device, mobile desktop, laptop can be used to develop applications through PaaS, unlike an on-site development platform that enables only one specific device.
    • The web-based nature of PaaS helps in getting updated tools automatically. While in-house technology tends to get out of date

Just like the advantages, everything has its disadvantages as well, nothing is perfect. There are challenges that are needed to be solved and they are:

    Cons

    • Public PaaS products are not appropriate and are a basic concern for security as there are many people using the product and sharing the space with others.
    • PaaS products are made by the providers, so there is no say of the users here. They have to use what they are being provided with. Therefore compatibility issues can arise.
    • Moving from one platform to another can be a little tricky.

Market Size of the Platform as a Service (PaaS) Industry

The main reason for the growth of PaaS industry is because of the rise of cloud-based business. Many industries are adopting cloud services as they are able to meet their business goals at a minimal cost. With Covid-19 still looming over our heads, big businesses are opting for PaaS for developing and managing applications.

The growth of PaaS industry is because of the minimal cost required for application development with that the time that is given during the procedure is much lesser than what the users give during the onsite application development. Although, security issues can be a hinder to the growth of this market.

As per the reports, the market size of industry is 56.2 billion as of 2020 and it is expected to grow to 164.3 billion by 2026. The IT industry is looking forward to getting more involved with PaaS.

Best Platform as a Service (PaaS) Providers

There are various vendors who provides some of the best PaaS services and they are:

    • Amazon Web Services – Elastic Beanstalk
    • IBM – Bluemix
    • Microsoft – Azure
    • Red Hat – OpenShift
    • Google – App Engine
    • Microsoft – Azure
    • Engine Yard
    • Heroku
    • Pivotal
    • Mendix

    Conclusion

Technological advancement has taken the world to a different level.  Thanks to that, humans are innovating things that are making life much easier than one could ever imagine. A thing can be developed with minimal cost is not time-consuming anymore.

PaaS industry will only rise with time and with the existence of on spot infrastructure and tools that are needed for the development and managing of applications. It is just a matter of time before every kind of business will pick the side of cloud computing and will involve itself in the PaaS industry.

    FAQ

How Big is the Cloud Services Industry?

The market size of the global cloud industry is expected to reach $791.48 billion by 2028.

What is the main function of PaaS?

The main function of Pass is to develop, update, test, and host applications all in the same domain.

  • pCloud Review: The Secure Cloud Storage Solution you Need

Cloud services have become a part of everyday life and the transition has been barely noticeable. Since information is mostly digital now, there’s a need for storage and retrieval. Cloud storage has gained popularity due to its accessibility and scalability. The ability to have store and retrieve any number of files through the internet is now a reality thanks to cloud storage solutions.

Google Drive is one of the most popular cloud storage solutions in the market.
But after the recent $5 billion lawsuit against the company for tracking user data, you might be on the lookout for a new storage solution. pCloud is a simple and secure cloud storage platform for all your storage needs. It’s got all the basic features with some added functionality and a minimal UI.

Founded in 2014, pCloud is a Switzerland-based company with over 14 million users now. The highlights of the platform being their focus on simplicity and end-user experience. So far pCloud has data centers in both the US and Europe while granting users a choice between them.

    Features of pCloud

When choosing a cloud service it’s essential to know whether or not it supports your most used features. pCloud does a good job of maintaining functionality behind the hood while presenting users with a clean interface to avoid any sort of complications.

The service is accessible via applications for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and iOS. There is also a web version ensuring that you have access to your files with almost any device that has a browser. That being said here are some of the platform’s key features:

    File Syncing

pCloud does a great job of syncing your files across to all your devices. The automatic cloud sync can back up your photos, documents, videos, files and entire folders to the cloud.

The pCloud Drive can also be used to backup files from your desktop periodically so that your files remain safe and can be restored in case something goes wrong. pCloud Drive can also be used to stream content directly to any device. This means any media content that you’ve backed up to the drive can be streamed from any device with an internet connection.

The dedicated mobile apps for android and iOS ensure that you can backup your files quickly. There’s a ‘rewind’ feature that allows users to recover any previously backed-up file that they may have deleted. It acts like a recycle bin for your pCloud Drive.

The file syncing works smoothly and can backup all your files automatically as per your choice. The backup frequency and dates can be changed to match user convenience.

pcloud recovery functionality can help you get back old files with ease

    Encryption

Security is critical when using a service that deals with your personal data. pCloud provides users with both client-side and server-side encryption facilities that ensure the safety of stored data.

pCloud Crypto, their unique client-side encryption functionality allows users to encrypt their local data before transferring it to the cloud. The encryption key (Crypto Pass) is only available to the user who has created this.

The server also makes uses of AES 256 bit encryption to keep all your backed-up files, photos, documents, and videos safe. In fact, their encryption is so good that they’ve challenged hackers from all over the world to hack their system for a reward, and yet none had claimed the price.

    Cloud Sharing

pCloud lets its users share files with anyone with ease. The cloud sharing functionality means you’ll be able to share any files that you’ve uploaded. A sharable link will be generated from which the file can be downloaded.

Users can send requests to other users, allowing them to upload files to another account. The receivers simply have to click accept and the sender can transfer a file without having direct access to the account. Cloud technology has taken collaboration to the next level.

Having everything you keep on a file locally sync up to the cloud automatically certainly saves a few minutes. You can even use the public directory as a hosting service for static HTML webpages since it will be accessible to everyone.

    Alternatives of pCloud

pCloud packs in functionality and security in a neat package. But if you’re still unsure about your next cloud service here are a few similar services to compare:

    Dropbox

Dropbox is a file hosting service operated by the American company Dropbox, Inc. It’s similar to pCloud but mostly used to host downloadable files for blogs, websites, and related content.

The free plan grants you 2GB of free storage and access to features such as cloud syncing, cloud sharing, and storage from any supported device. It supports data encryption to make sure user data remains safe and untamed. However, the company had experienced a data breach back in 2016 where over 60 million user account data was stolen.

Since then the security methods used to secure user data have been updated and the service still maintains its excellent customer support for any issues users may come across.

    Mediafire

MediaFire is a file hosting, file synchronization, and cloud storage service based in Texas, United States. The service is widely used for data sharing and is a popular website for hosting downloadable files.

Users get 10GB of free storage along with unlimited bandwidth and downloads. There’s also a cool feature where you can generate custom download links. Users can generate a one-time use link that can only be accessed once, so you don’t have to worry about the wrong people accessing your link.

The service is simplistic and upgrading to the paid plans is affordable as well. Mediafire is a minimal storage solution, meaning you’ll have to use something like pCloud if your general use is associated with productivity.

There is no support for viewing Pdf’s and word documents which will slow down productivity and hence it isn’t an ideal solution for businesses.

Moosend Review: Email Marketing Tool for Growing Businesses
Moosend is an email marketing tool designed to boost your business growth. It provides core automation features along with templates and even a landing page builder.

    Pricing of pcloud

pCloud has plans suitable for all purposes. They have individual plans, which happen to be the most popular, family plans and business plans. Having an idea of the kind of features you’re getting, the prices are rather affordable.

They offer lifetime plans where you get to pay once and use the service for as long as you want. This is certainly different and provides new meaning to how you pay for the services you use.

The 500GB plans will cost you $49.99 and the 2TB plan is available for $99.99 a year. The family plan lacks an annual payment method but the one time payment of $500 seems like a more suitable option if you really need the storage.

    Conclusion

You never know what you actually need unless you try alternatives. Cloud providers are multiplying by the day but it’s hard to find a noteworthy cloud service that has the all essential features.

pCloud is a reliable, fast, and easy service to switch to and works well for individuals and businesses alike. Overall, if you want a change of cloud storage, pCloud is sure to have those features you’ll want along with added security benefits and great customer support.

  • How is Tata Planning to Revolutionize Cloud Technology with Google

Gone are the days when corporates had file rooms or storage rooms to have their data backed up. With the evolution in technology these rooms were replaced by computers and now most of its applications are being managed by cloud services.

Cloud services refer to a wide range of services, provided on demand to organizations which are used to data compilation, storage and day to day applications. These services are designed to provide hassle free access to resources and applications without the need of internal infrastructure or any hardware.

Cloud services can be delivered publicly and privately. Services which are made available to a number of consumers are public cloud services and private cloud services are provided to those who maintain highly sensitive data such as healthcare or banking institutions.
