On 28 October, OpenAI declared that starting on November 4, ChatGPT Go will be free for a year for all Indian users. The package, which now costs INR 399 a month, will be made available as part of a temporary promotion that takes place in conjunction with the company’s first DevDay Exchange event in Bengaluru.
Since ChatGPT Go was first introduced in India a few months ago, the firm has been inspired by the ingenuity and uptake of its users, said Nick Turley, Vice-President and Head of ChatGPT. To assist more people access and benefit from cutting-edge AI, the company is making ChatGPT Go freely available for a year ahead of its first DevDay Exchange event in India. “We’re excited to see the amazing things our users will build, learn, and achieve with these tools,” Turley stated.
Free Subscription also Available for Existing ChatGPT Go Subscribers
According to OpenAI, the free-access offer’s sign-up period will begin on November 4. The 12-month promotion will also apply to current ChatGPT Go members in India; further information will be available soon. Powered by OpenAI’s GPT-5 model, ChatGPT Go is the company’s newly released subscription tier that gives customers more access to premium services like longer memory, more picture generation, higher message limits, and expanded file and image uploads.
ChatGPT Go was released in August 2025 in response to Indian users’ desire for more reasonably priced access to cutting-edge features. India’s paid ChatGPT user base more than doubled in the first month after its debut. Since then, the service has grown to almost 90 markets worldwide.
India a Massive Market for ChatGPT
India is one of ChatGPT’s fastest-growing and second-largest markets. Today, millions of individuals utilise ChatGPT every day for learning, productivity, and creativity. These users include professionals, students, and developers.
According to OpenAI, the free-access campaign demonstrates its “India-first” stance and advances the IndiaAI Mission, which aims to increase indigenous innovation capability, promote digital inclusiveness, and increase access to artificial intelligence tools. In order to encourage responsible AI use and skill development across the country, the company is also collaborating with government programmes, educational institutions, and civil society groups under the IndiaAI Mission.

•On October 28, OpenAI announced that ChatGPT Go will be free
for one year for all Indian users starting November 4.
•The subscription, usually priced at INR 399 per month, is now
part of a special promotional offer tied to OpenAI’s first DevDay Exchange
event in Bengaluru.
•The 12-month complimentary plan applies to both new and
existing ChatGPT Go subscribers in India.
•More details on sign-up and activation will be shared by OpenAI
soon.
•The offer begins November 4, 2025.
•ChatGPT Go was launched in August 2025 following strong demand
for affordable AI access.
Brian Chesky, the Chief Executive of Airbnb Inc., stated that the company’s online travel app was not yet integrated with OpenAI’s ChatGPT due to the startup’s connective tools not being “quite ready”. In an interview, Chesky stated that Airbnb will keep an eye on the progress of ChatGPT’s app integrations and might eventually think about a partnership akin to those of its rivals Booking Holdings Inc. and Expedia Group Inc.
Regarding ChatGPT’s integration capabilities, he stated, “I didn’t think it was quite ready.” According to Chesky, OpenAI will need to create a platform that is so strong that Airbnb’s app can function within the ChatGPT chatbot in a way that is “almost self-contained” because Airbnb is a community with verified members.
Why Chesky Opting to not to go with AI Integration?
Chesky, who is good friends with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, claimed to have given the AI business advice regarding its new feature that allows outside developers to publish their apps within the ChatGPT chatbot. These functionalities were revealed this month by the AI startup. The well-known chatbot didn’t launch with Airbnb as one of its apps.
While refusing to comment on Chesky’s comments, an OpenAI representative pointed to the company’s blog post from this month, which characterised the app integration technology as a developer preview with further features on the horizon. In October, T21 claimed that it had enhanced its in-app artificial intelligence features to allow users to conduct additional activities without a live operator, despite Airbnb setting aside a potential integration with ChatGPT.
The company’s AI customer support representative, which it made available to all English-speaking users in the United States in May, now shows links and action buttons that can assist users in completing tasks like changing or cancelling reservations. As a result, 15% fewer users now require a live agent, and the average resolution time has decreased from over three hours to six seconds, according to Airbnb.
The business intends to offer 56 other languages in the upcoming year in addition to Spanish and French this autumn. According to Chesky, the agent is based on 13 distinct AI models, including those from OpenAI, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., Google, a division of Alphabet Inc., and open-source providers.
Airbnb Adding new Features to Attract More Customers
In an effort to foster user relationships and ultimately improve its travel recommendations within the app, Airbnb, which this year branched out from lodging into tours and personal services, is also implementing new social elements.
After booking an experience, the firm introduced a feature that allows visitors to share their Airbnb profile with other travellers. Additionally, users who have taken the same tours can now communicate with each other directly. According to Airbnb, privacy precautions are in place, and the communication can only proceed if the recipient approves the message request.
Next year will see the addition of more social capabilities, which Chesky said might eventually encourage user-generated content on the app, allowing users to find inspiration for trips without ever leaving the Airbnb website.

According to Bloomberg News on 15 October, which cited sources with knowledge of the situation, Apple’s Ke Yang, the recently hired CEO spearheading an initiative to create an AI-driven online search similar to ChatGPT, is leaving to join Meta. According to the story, Yang was only a few weeks ago named leader of the Answers, Knowledge and Information, or AKI, team, which is at the heart of the March redesign of the Siri voice assistant. Yang’s LinkedIn page states that he has been employed with Apple since 2019.
Meta Continues it Poaching Spree
By aggressively hiring to compete with competitors like OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic, Meta has escalated the talent battle in Silicon Valley as tech companies heavily invest in AI in the race to superintelligence. Bloomberg News previously claimed that Robby Walker and Ruoming Pang were among the top AI executives that the Mark Zuckerberg-led business had previously snatched from the iPhone manufacturer.
Apple pivots from Vision Air to next-gen smart glasses to take on Meta
After dominating the high-end smartphone market, Apple is now attempting to compete with Meta and offer something different. Apple analyst Mark Gurman claims that the corporation is prepared to abandon all of its plans for the Apple Vision Air and instead focus on introducing smart glasses for consumers.
With their AR/VR capabilities, these glasses will function as a more portable gadget that stands out from the competition. According to early speculations, Apple will release two versions of the device simultaneously: one with and one without a display. Let’s take a quick look at everything that is currently available regarding Apple’s impending smart glasses.
Apple Smart Glasses to have Two Variants
There will be two versions of the Apple Smart Glass: one with and one without a display. For seamless operation, the iPhone will be linked with the no-display one. There are rumours that the gadget will come with voice, camera, microphone, and artificial intelligence capabilities.
With this one, it’s likely that we’ll get to experience Siri on steroids. In addition, the gadget will have health monitoring capabilities, allowing end users to have a highly personalised experience. At debut, the glasses will come in a variety of colours and styles.

As a component of the AgentKit, OpenAI has introduced the Agent Builder, which gives developers the means to create agentic processes, enhance performance, and create agents using a visual-first canvas.
In a blog post announcing the capability, OpenAI stated that up until now, creating agents required balancing disparate tools, including intricate orchestration without versioning, unique connectors, manual evaluation pipelines, timely tweaking, and weeks of frontend work prior to launch. Developers can now more quickly integrate agentic UIs using new building pieces and graphically design workflows with AgentKit.
Features of OpenAI’s Agent Builder
The drag-and-drop functionality of the Agent Builder allows developers to design multi-agent workflows. It makes it simple for teams to test agents, see how they operate, and make adjustments. ChatKit makes it simple for developers to incorporate chat-based agents into websites or applications for conversation experiences.
These can be applied to knowledge assistants, research, onboarding, and customer service. In order to create agents on the visual canvas and integrate them into their applications using the Agents SDK for Node.js or Python, advanced users can also select Agent Builder. Reinforcement fine-tuning (RFT), which enables programmers to teach models to follow specific rules and make better decisions, is being expanded by OpenAI.
Some models already have the feature, while GPT-5 is presently under beta testing. The new function incorporates pertinent context, such as file and online searches, using the most recent AI models. In order to pull in both internal and external context, it may also link to well-known corporate programmes and MCP servers.
OpenAI’s Connector Registry
Additionally, OpenAI unveiled the Connector Registry, which aids businesses in managing data across various workspaces and applications, such as Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint. Guardrails, a security layer that stops agents from disclosing private information or performing dangerous actions, was developed by OpenAI to keep agents safe.
Guardrails to identify jailbreaks, implement personalised security measures in the Canvas, conceal personally identifiable information, and more are integrated into the Agent Builder. All developers have access to the Evals capabilities, and Agent Builder is presently under beta testing. Standard API pricing includes the new tool.

Oracle replaced Safra Catz, who played a key role in developing the company’s cloud strategy and propelling it to the forefront of the ongoing AI boom with significant contract wins, with insiders Clay Magouyrk and Mike Sicilia as co-CEOs on September 22.
During her 11 years in charge, Catz transformed Oracle from a database provider into a cloud powerhouse by vigorously vying with Alphabet and Microsoft for a piece of the profitable data centre industry, which helped increase Oracle’s market valuation to almost $1 trillion. According to Oracle, Catz will continue to serve as the vice chair of the board.
Like Oracle, Tech Companies Focusing on Cloud Computing
The two executives’ promotions highlight Wall Street’s and the tech sector’s emphasis on cloud computing strategy, as businesses invest billions of dollars in building up the infrastructure that supports artificial intelligence. In his current position, Sicilia, 54, is in charge of cloud-based apps and artificial intelligence (AI) products, and Magouyrk, 39, is in charge of Oracle’s cloud infrastructure platform, which underpins these apps.
“Investors are already familiar with both Mr Magouryk and Mr Sicilia, and their promotions solidify the importance of the Cloud and Industry businesses as the growth levers for the company,” Evercore ISI analysts wrote in a note. “The bottom line is that with Larry remaining at CTO and Safra as Executive Vice Chair, we expect a smooth transition in the near term.”
According to Reuters, Oracle is currently at the centre of high-profile talks to keep TikTok running in the US. All user data will be held on Oracle-run cloud computing infrastructure in the US.
Additionally, the company pushed the stock to record highs by reaffirming its financial estimate earlier this month, which stated that it expected booked revenue at its Oracle Cloud Infrastructure unit to surpass half a trillion dollars.
Oracle Partnering with OpenAI
According to reports, Oracle and OpenAI have inked one of the largest cloud agreements in history. The ChatGPT manufacturer is anticipated to purchase $300 billion worth of computing capacity from Oracle over a five-year period.
A key player in Oracle’s numerous acquisitions, Safra Catz assumed the company’s top position in 2014 alongside the late Mark Hurd after Ellison chose to leave running the day-to-day operations of the business.
The company’s stock has increased more than 586% during her tenure. According to Forbes’ real-time net worth tracker, Catz has established herself as one of the most powerful female CEOs in the tech sector, with a net worth of $3.3 billion.

The upcoming generation of iPhones and accessories that are currently available in international countries is the iPhone 17 series. As it gets ready to release its first consumer hardware products by late 2026, OpenAI is actively hiring Apple staff and collaborating with the iPhone manufacturer’s major suppliers, according to a report from The Information.
In 2025 alone, at least 25 former Apple workers—including senior members of the engineering, manufacturing, and design teams—have joined OpenAI. The developer of ChatGPT has also approached Goertek, which manufactures parts for Apple Watches, HomePods, and AirPods, and landed a manufacturing deal with Luxshare, Apple’s largest iPhone and AirPods assembler.
Tang Tan Leads the Hiring Spree of OpenAI
Tang Tan, OpenAI’s chief hardware officer and a 25-year Apple veteran who has worked on several iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch incarnations, is spearheading the hiring push. Tan has previously assisted in turning Jony Ive’s designs into mass-produced Apple products.
According to various media reports, Tan has assured new hires that OpenAI will have “less bureaucracy and more collaboration” than Apple’s hierarchical system. After OpenAI paid $6.5 billion to acquire io Products in May 2025, the talent exodus accelerated. Ive and Tan co-founded the company, which immediately established OpenAI as a hardware design leader. Among the notable hires are Matt Theobald, a 17-year veteran of manufacturing design, and Cyrus Daniel Irani from Apple’s human interface design team.
OpenAI to Roll New Products as it Hires More Skilled Staff
According to reports, OpenAI’s first product looks like a screenless smart speaker, but the business is also investigating wearable pins, digital voice recorders, and eyewear. With an ambitious goal of 100 million units, CEO Sam Altman has detailed plans for a “family of devices” that would be screen-free, contextually aware, and pocket-sized.
Apple has been shaken by the poaching campaign and cancelled its annual China meeting in August due to worries that executives would switch to OpenAI while travelling overseas. Since Apple presently licenses OpenAI’s models for Siri and iOS features while losing important employees to its AI partner, the scenario creates an awkward relationship.
OpenAI’s approach is similar to Apple’s: hire outstanding designers, work with high-end vendors, and develop hardware-software experiences that work together. It is unclear if this strategy will be successful in the emerging AI hardware industry, but it is obvious that the corporation is placing a significant wager on upending Apple’s hegemony in consumer electronics.

For consumers in India only, OpenAI has launched a new subscription package called ChatGPT Go. This package, which costs INR 399 a month, is one of the most economical options offered by the company and is intended to give more people access to the well-liked ChatGPT services at a lower starting price.
What is ChatGPT Go Plan?
The Go plan offers extended access to OpenAI’s flagship model, GPT-5, in addition to all the capabilities found in the free tier. Higher message limitations, more daily image generation, more file uploads, and greater access to sophisticated data analysis tools like Python are all benefits that subscribers will receive.
Additionally, compared to free accounts, the plan doubles the amount of memory available, enabling longer conversational context preservation.
Features of ChatGPT Go vs Free & Plus Plans
According to OpenAI, the plan is intended for consumers who desire greater flexibility without having to pay the extra fees associated with Plus or Pro.
The Go tier maintains the emphasis on core usage and affordability, whereas Plus, which costs INR 1,999 per month, enables legacy models like GPT-4o and capabilities like deep research, connections, and Sora movie creation. In India, ChatGPT Go is being rolled out gradually.
How to Buy ChatGPT Go Subscription in India?
By signing into their ChatGPT account, choosing the profile symbol, and going to “Upgrade Plan”, users can verify their eligibility.
When the plan is available, they can select “Try Go” to sign up. Go features will be available to subscribers on several platforms, such as the ChatGPT mobile apps and via 1-800-ChatGPT on WhatsApp. API usage, however, is still beyond the scope of this subscription and will incur additional fees.
Payment Options: UPI & Credit Card
For the Go tier, OpenAI has authorised local payment methods. Following the company’s previous switch to INR-based pricing for subscriptions in the nation, users can now pay using credit cards or UPI in Indian rupees.
Users can unsubscribe at any time, and subscriptions are invoiced on a monthly basis. The announcement follows OpenAI’s recent price changes to its current plans in India, where Plus now costs INR 1,999 and Pro costs INR 19,900 per month. The Go plan, on the other hand, is marketed as a reasonably priced starting point for people who wish to increase their access to AI technologies without committing to more expensive levels.
According to OpenAI, Go will not support legacy models, connectors, or Sora. Rather, it emphasises cost-effective multimodal features and increased access to GPT-5. Prior to expanding into other markets, the organisation intends to analyse the comments received from India.

Gone are the days of sitting, typing, backspacing, and rewriting the same deleted sentence over and over again till you end up being stuck. You guessed it right, writing an essay. For novices, a 1000-word write-up can take up to a good 4 hours. Again, the more complex the topic, the more time it will take to research. How exciting would it be to type in a few initial thoughts and then let the writing take off on its own? Well, that’s a bit of an oversimplification, since writing is more than just putting words together (especially after AI). It’s about being authentic, being human, and using proper grammar, all while ensuring you don’t sound like an AI (using an AI). Quite a task, of course. Here are the best AI essay writing tools to further simplify writing.

Shengjia Zhao, a co-creator of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, will be the chief scientist of Meta Superintelligence Labs, according to a statement released by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on 25 July. The $14 billion investment in Scale AI is the centrepiece of Zuckerberg’s multibillion-dollar hiring spree in artificial intelligence in recent weeks.
Zuckerberg revealed a brand-new company in June dubbed Meta Superintelligence Labs, which is composed of leading AI developers and researchers. Although the June message included Zhao’s name among other new staffers, Zuckerberg said that Zhao co-founded the lab and “has been our lead scientist from day one.”
Shengjia Zhao’s Role and Vision at Superintelligence Lab
Zhao will collaborate closely with Alexandr Wang, the former CEO of Scale AI who is serving as Meta’s chief artificial intelligence officer, and Zuckerberg. In a social media post, Zuckerberg stated, “Shengjia has already pioneered several breakthroughs, including a new scaling paradigm, and distinguished himself as a leader in the field.” “I’m excited to collaborate closely with him to further his scientific vision.”
Inside Meta’s Multibillion-Dollar AI Ambitions
According to Zuckerberg’s June memo, Zhao co-founded ChatGPT and contributed to the development of OpenAI’s GPT-4, micro models, 4.1, and O3. He also served as OpenAI’s lead for synthetic data.
Employees at Meta Superintelligence Labs will work on foundation models, including the Fundamental Artificial Intelligence Research programs and the open-source Llama family of AI models and products. Earlier this month, Zuckerberg announced that the social media business would invest “hundreds of billions of dollars” in AI compute infrastructure. “The upcoming years will be extremely exciting!” On July 25, Zuckerberg wrote.
According to the Threads article, Zhao is a co-founder of the lab, which runs independently of FAIR, Meta’s well-established AI research section headed by Yann LeCun, a pioneer in deep learning. According to Zuckerberg, Meta wants to develop “full general intelligence” and make its work publicly available. The AI community has expressed both support and scepticism for this approach.
Meta vs OpenAI: A New Chapter in the AI Talent War
In addition to hiring about seven to eight researchers, including well-known figures like Xiaohua Zhai, Trapit Bansal, Alexander Kolesnikov, and Lucas Beyer, Meta has been constantly working on enhancing its Superintelligence Labs with significant financial support and leadership appointments.
A potential strategic change for OpenAI is also indicated by the recent break, as the company abandons its rapid-fire product release methodology in favour of concentrating more on long-term AGI development.
In the face of escalating competition and internal restructuring, the internal memo referred to the decision to suspend operations as a “reset”.
The competition for AI expertise is becoming a defining issue for the major players in the industry as Meta expands its own superintelligence lab and offers previously unthinkable compensation packages.
With 2.5 billion prompts every day—330 million of which come from the US alone—ChatGPT is transforming education. Students are quickly switching from traditional search engines to AI-driven explanations for homework, essays, and comprehending hard subjects.
With features like an AI-powered web browser, OpenAI is improving ChatGPT to help with time management, organisation, and research. Students’ methods of searching for information and learning online have been transformed by ChatGPT.
With over 2.5 billion prompts handled daily, this AI chatbot is essentially a need for students everywhere. The world is witnessing a significant shift in web browsing and digital schooling.
ChatGPT’s Growth Among Students and Daily Prompt Surge
Although Google still leads with about 5 trillion searches per year, ChatGPT’s explosive growth suggests that it may soon become essential for educators, learners, and anyone else who enjoys learning. ChatGPT has been rapidly adopted by students.
In December 2023, OpenAI had 300 million weekly users; three months later, that number jumped to 500 million. The majority of these users are students using the free edition, seeking assistance with essays, homework, and understanding complex subjects.
However, the numbers only provide a portion of the picture. Not only are students utilising AI more, but they are also radically altering their learning process.
OpenAI’s AI Tools Changing How Students Learn and Study
OpenAI is developing a new type of digital assistant for more efficient student research by releasing features like an AI-powered web browser. The ability of ChatGPT Agent to execute actions on users’ PCs may help students automate academic assignments, manage study schedules, and organise their notes. These changes have the potential to fundamentally alter student life.
Students might simplify their entire study schedule and make academic life more organised and effective if AI were to assist with time management or project planning. Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, has emphasised time and again that ChatGPT and similar platforms should empower students and learners everywhere, especially in areas where access to high-quality education is still limited. Altman shares OpenAI’s commitment to inclusive education.
